Autumn in the Scottish glens brings a transition period from our cool summers to wet and snowy winters. The landscape bursts with intense reds, yellow, bronze, crimson and deep purples. Stormy dark skies bring a promise of what’s to come. Rivers are filling with cold, clear, rushing water again. This artwork was inspired by many a walk at this time of year. Made from natural, biodegradable and renewable wool from British mills this design is a complex weave design. Each weft thread carefully hand placed to create the shapes of the landscape. A mixture of traditional floor loom weaving and tapestry techniques, born from experimentation.
This wall hanging has taken over 3 weeks to make.
