Art & Printmaking

Originally Different

The Scottish Highlands are an inspirational place and home to many talented artists. At the gallery we continually showcase a changing selection of work by selected local, and Scottish, artists and printmakers in many mediums. Always worth a browse, you might just find that special piece of Scottish art for sale to enhance wherever you live or work.

To reflect the history of our building (former print-works for the local newspaper: the Northern Times), we have a display area dedicated to the work of several printmakers. Not be confused with prints of original paintings or drawings; these works are not produced at the press of a computer key. Information panels in the gallery describe some of the fascinating processes by which these printed images have been created and produced - including lino, monoprint, aquatint, collograph and drypoint etching.

Artists can also feature in our varied exhibition programme, and we are developing a separate textile art collection.

You can also choose from a wide range of prints and cards by artists, printers and designers in various mediums.

Some of our current originals, from featured artists and printmakers that we have chosen a number of works from, can be seen here. Click on each image below to see more about each artist, and browse art for sale online.

We offer a pack and post service, UK and international.
